About Freeport Peninsula
Freeport Peninsula is Montego Bay's adults-only enclave -- a narrow, manicured spit of land jutting south from the city centre, wrapped on three sides by the Caribbean, and home to Secrets Wild Orchid, Secrets St. James, and Breathless Montego Bay. The peninsula was originally developed as a residential and marina zone, which is why the road in feels almost suburban: clipped hedges, private gates, sailboats at anchor, and very little through traffic.
Transfer time from MBJ is fifteen to twenty minutes, making Freeport one of the shortest airport runs on the island. The minivan handles most couples arriving for adults-only stays; the luxury van is assigned when luggage counts run high or a small family group is splitting between Secrets and a villa rental. Meet and greet is standard -- the chauffeur meets the guest at arrivals and is usually pulling up to the gatehouse before the welcome drink is poured.
The peninsula's appeal is its pace. Unlike the Hip Strip five minutes away, Freeport is quiet by design. The three Secrets and Breathless properties share pool decks, restaurants, and the same calm beach, giving couples a resort-circuit feel without leaving the gates. Day trips to Doctor's Cave Beach, Rose Hall Great House, and the dolphin lagoon at Chukka Cove are the most common add-ons.
