About Falmouth
Falmouth is Trelawny's crown jewel — a Georgian port town with more intact 18th-century architecture than anywhere else in the Caribbean. The cruise port brings thousands of visitors weekly, but the real Falmouth is in the narrow streets behind the harbour: coral stone churches, wrought-iron balconies, and the Falmouth Courthouse that anchors Water Square.
The Luminous Lagoon, just minutes from town, is one of only four bioluminescent bays in the world. Jump in at night and watch your body glow. Martha Brae bamboo rafting launches from the river just south of town — a quiet, romantic drift through the jungle.
Falmouth sits between Montego Bay and Ocho Rios on the North Coast Highway, making it an easy stop on any island road trip or a peaceful base for exploring both resort areas without the crowds.
