Downtown Ocho Rios, St. Ann
Konoko Falls and Park is a 35-acre botanical and waterfall park on Shaw Park Road in the hills directly above Ocho Rios town centre -- a tiered limestone cascade surrounded by a landscaped collection of Jamaican endemics, a small aviary with green parrots and parakeets, a Taino museum, and a freshwater pool fed by the upper falls. The park is a more relaxed alternative to Dunn's River Falls for guests who want the climb without the crowds.
The falls themselves step down in four main cascades across 130 feet of limestone. A guided climb runs from the base pool to the upper garden, taking 45 minutes at a relaxed pace. The Taino museum at the entrance holds a small but well-curated collection of pre-Columbian Jamaican artefacts excavated from the surrounding hills.
Drive time from OCJ is 20 minutes; from MBJ it is 2 hours. The Ochi Luxe Van is the house vehicle. Konoko visits are typically combined with Shaw Park Gardens (10 minutes further up the hill) or Dunn's River on a Half Day chauffeur at $800 for six hours in the right vehicle for your party. Compare tours and excursions for combined waterfall and garden days, and find a nearby stay for Ocho Rios bay-front resorts or hillside villas above the town. Villas in the Shaw Park hills commonly install Starlink.
Konoko is significantly less crowded than Dunn's River and better suited to guests with children under 8.
