Downtown Ocho Rios, St. Ann
Cranbrook Flower Forest is a 130-acre river garden in the hills above Laughlands, 20 minutes west of Ocho Rios -- a botanical preserve organised around the Little River gorge with heliconias, gingers, torch ginger, and a large collection of Jamaican endemics. The signature experience is the river walk: a mile-long upstream wade along the shallow Little River, climbing through the gorge past small cascades and natural pools to the source at the bluff. The property also runs a canopy zipline, horseback trails, and a freshwater fishing pond stocked with tilapia.
The garden is well organised for a relaxed half-day visit. Paths are clearly marked, the plant labels are accurate, and the riverbed walk is shallow enough for children over about six. The visitor centre includes a small cafe and the ticket booth for the zipline and horseback add-ons.
Drive time from OCJ is 40 minutes via the North Coast Highway; from MBJ it is 90 minutes. The Ochi Luxe Van is the standard vehicle. Most Cranbrook visits are combined with a Dunn's River Falls morning on a Half Day chauffeur at $800 for six hours in the right vehicle for your party. Compare tours and excursions for combined flower-forest and river-walk days, and find a nearby stay for Mammee Bay or Runaway Bay resorts as the base. Villas in the Runaway Bay hills commonly run Starlink.
Bring a waterproof dry bag. The river walk is wet to the chest at the deeper points.
