Kribi is a coastal resort town on the Gulf of Guinea in southern Cameroon, known for some of the finest beaches in the country: long stretches of golden sand fringed by coconut palms and washed by the warm Atlantic. Its most famous sight is the Lobe Falls, a short way south of town, where the Lobe River tumbles over a wide drop directly into the sea, one of the few waterfalls in the world to empty straight into the ocean, and reached by boat or admired from the shore. Kribi is also a working port, home to the Kribi Deep Sea Port and the ocean terminal of the Chad-Cameroon oil pipeline. It lies about 150 kilometres south of the city of Douala, reached by road, and combines relaxed beach tourism with fresh seafood. The climate is tropical, with drier months offering the best beach weather.
