KBI is the airport code for Kribi Airport, serving Kribi, a coastal resort town in the south of Cameroon, on the Atlantic coast at the mouth of the Kienke river. Kribi is famous for having some of the most beautiful beaches in Cameroon, long stretches of golden sand fringed with coconut palms, and for its picturesque fishing harbour with its lively fish market and seafood restaurants. Its most remarkable sight is the nearby Lobe Falls, one of the very few waterfalls in the world that pour straight into the sea, tumbling over rocks right on the ocean shore just south of the town. Kribi is also a growing port, with a new deep-water harbour. Kribi is reached by road from the city of Douala, a few hours to the north, and by its small airport. The climate is hot, humid and tropical, with heavy rainfall for much of the year.
