Kaben is a small, remote community on Maloelap Atoll, in the Ratak chain of the Marshall Islands, in the central Pacific Ocean. Like other Marshallese atolls, Maloelap is a ring of low, palm-covered coral islets around a wide lagoon, home to a small population living by fishing and copra, with white beaches and clear water.
