Sam Sharpe Square
A short walk inland from the Hip Strip, Sam Sharpe Square honours the national hero whose 1831 rebellion helped end slavery in the British Empire. The square features a bronze statue of Sam Sharpe and sits at the centre of downtown Montego Bay's historic core. The Old Courthouse and the Cage, a colonial-era lockup, are both worth a look.
