Grand Cayman airport lounge: the Sir Turtle Club and your other options

What should you know before visiting?

Lounge

Cayman Airways [reopened the Sir Turtle Club lounge](https://www.caymanairways.com/sir-turtle-club-lounge-reopens-at-oria) at ORIA on 23 August 2022 and calls it the only airline loyalty lounge at the airport.

Who gets in

The same announcement limits access to Cayman Airways Business Class tickets, Sir Turtle Club members and [Sir Turtle Rewards](https://www.caymanairways.com/sir-turtle-rewards-detail) Platinum and Gold members.

Departure hall

The airport authority's [customer service page](https://www.caymanairports.com/customer-service) lists duty-free, souvenir shops, dining and wireless internet in the departure hall.

Airport operator

The [Cayman Islands Airports Authority](https://www.caymanairports.com/) owns and runs ORIA on Grand Cayman and Charles Kirkconnell on Cayman Brac.

Is there a lounge at Owen Roberts International?

Yes, but only one, and it belongs to an airline. Cayman Airways runs the Sir Turtle Club in the departure area. The airline closed it during the long terminal rebuild and the pandemic border closure, then held a ribbon-cutting to reopen it in August 2022. Its press note describes a Caymanian design theme, with turtle-shell tile patterns and sea-blue chairs.

We could not find a pay-at-the-door lounge or a membership lounge from a card network at GCM on the official airport or airline pages, checked on 23 October 2026. If a third-party site sells you entry to another GCM lounge, ask it to name the room and its location before you pay.

Who can use the Sir Turtle Club?

Cayman Airways lists three groups: passengers holding a Cayman Airways Business Class ticket, members of the Sir Turtle Club programme, and Sir Turtle Rewards members at Platinum or Gold level. All of them have to be flying Cayman Airways out of Grand Cayman.

If you are flying another airline, plan on the departure hall instead. The published rules are tied to Cayman Airways tickets and programmes, so elite status with another airline does not get you in.

What can you do airside without lounge access?

The airport authority lists duty-free shopping for jewellery, liquor and cigars, plus souvenir and sundry shops, grab-and-go food, fast food and full-service dining. Wireless internet covers the departure hall. Before security there is an ATM and a postal drop box in the check-in concourse.

The departure hall gets busy when several flights leave close together. Use the airport's [live departures board](https://www.caymanairports.com/grand-cayman-departures) to see how many flights are leaving around yours, and eat before security if the queue is long.

How should you plan the ride to the airport?

Owen Roberts is close to George Town, and taxis, pre-booked buses, limousines and rental cars all serve it, according to the airport authority. Rental cars are returned through a key drop box in the check-in concourse if the desk is closed.

If you are staying on Seven Mile Beach or further out at East End, decide before you land whether you want a taxi or a pre-booked ride. Compare a private transfer with a taxi before you travel, and book with the partner directly.
