Bastia-Poretta lounge access: what you can actually count on

What should you know before visiting?

Official status

The [Bastia airport FAQ](https://bastia-aeroport.cci.corsica/en/faq/) and services pages list Wi-Fi, charging and food outlets but no lounge (checked 23 October 2026).

Location

The airport's [technical page](https://bastia-aeroport.cci.corsica/informations-techniques/) gives one 2,520 m runway, a 9,093 m² terminal and capacity for 1.5 million passengers a year.

Membership lounges

The [Priority Pass France directory](https://www.prioritypass.com/en-GB/lounges/france) lists mainland airports such as Nice and Marseille, not Bastia (checked 23 October 2026).

Airline lounge

Air France's published lounge list did not show Bastia when we checked, so any carrier lounge here is unverified.

Is there a lounge at Bastia-Poretta Airport?

Not one we can confirm. The airport's official site, run under the Corsican chamber of commerce, describes a terminal that is open from the first flight to the last, with free Wi-Fi and charging points in both the terminal and the boarding hall. Its list of outlets covers a bar, a café and shops, and it does not include a lounge. It also notes there are no left-luggage lockers, which matters if you arrive early with bags.

Some lounge directories describe an Air France lounge near the gates, and at least one card-benefit listing mentions a space close to Gates 6 and 7. We could not match either claim to an official Air France or airport page on 23 October 2026, and the airport's technical data lists check-in and boarding halls without one. If you hold an Air France or SkyTeam status card, ask at check-in rather than planning around an unverified room.

Where can you wait comfortably airside?

The boarding area is where most passengers spend the time. The [official services and shopping page](https://bastia-aeroport.cci.corsica/en/snack-bar-and-shops/) lists Corsica Duty Free, the local-produce shop A Stalla and Bar Mane airside, with the Brass'Aria café serving arrivals and departures. That gives you coffee, snacks and somewhere to sit, but not a quiet, separate room with showers or a buffet.

Seasonality shapes the experience. Bastia is busiest in summer, when holiday flights from mainland France and the rest of Europe stack up, and quieter in the shoulder months. On a peak-day afternoon, seating near the gates can fill quickly. Bring a charged device and a refillable bottle, and check the outlet opening times on the day, because the airport does not publish fixed hours for each one.

Do lounge memberships or premium cards help at BIA?

Priority Pass's France list covers airports such as Bordeaux, Lyon, Marseille, Montpellier, Nantes, Nice, Paris and Toulouse, but Bastia was absent when checked. The same applies to similar membership networks we looked at. If your card includes lounge visits, it is more useful on the connecting leg, for example at a Paris or Nice hub, than at Bastia itself.

If a third-party booking site offers paid lounge entry at Bastia, read what is actually being sold. Confirm the operator's name, the location relative to security and what happens if your flight is delayed. Ask for a refund policy in writing before you pay, and keep the confirmation email with you.

How should you plan arrival and onward travel from Bastia?

Travellers from outside the EU should also check [GOV.UK's France advice](https://www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice/france) or their own government's guidance for entry rules, since Corsica follows French and Schengen requirements. Because the terminal is modest, arriving too early mostly means a long wait at the café. Follow your airline's check-in deadline, then add time for summer queues at security. For the road into Bastia or down to the east coast, compare a pre-booked car or transfer through a partner rather than counting on taxis at a late arrival.
