YNB is the airport code for Prince Abdulmohsin bin Abdulaziz International Airport, serving Yanbu, a port city on the Red Sea coast of western Saudi Arabia, in the Medina province. Yanbu is the second-largest Saudi port on the Red Sea, after Jeddah, and the main port for the holy city of Medina, some 160 kilometres inland to the east. Once a small port town, it was transformed from the 1970s into one of the kingdom's great industrial centres, home to major oil refineries and petrochemical plants and one of the largest refining hubs in the world. Beyond the industry, the Yanbu coast has clear Red Sea waters and coral reefs known for diving, and a historic old town. Yanbu is reached by flights into its airport, from Jeddah, Riyadh and other cities, and by road along the Red Sea coast. The climate is hot and dry, with very hot summers.
