Margarima is a small town in the New Guinea highlands of Papua New Guinea, in Hela Province in the country's rugged, mountainous interior, in what was formerly part of the Southern Highlands. It sits in a landscape of high valleys, ridges and gardens farmed by highland communities, a region known for its strong traditional cultures rather than developed tourism. Margarima lies within the Komo-Margarima area and is linked to the wider highlands by rough mountain roads.
