MDV is the airport code for Medouneu, a small town in the far north of Gabon, in Central Africa, the capital of the Haut-Ntem department in Woleu-Ntem, the country's northernmost province. Medouneu lies in a green, hilly region of equatorial forest near the border with Equatorial Guinea, in a remote corner of Gabon far from the coast and the capital, Libreville. It is a modest local administrative and market centre rather than a tourist destination, set among the forests, villages and cocoa-growing country of the north, home to Fang communities.
