Within Monaco, walking and a compact local bus network cover the ground easily, since the whole principality is small enough to cross on foot in well under an hour along the coast; taxis and the heliport shuttle handle the longer connection back to Nice. Most visitors end up basing themselves in or near Monte Carlo and covering the rest of the principality on foot from there. The Mediterranean climate keeps Monaco pleasant across most of the year, with spring bringing the Grand Prix crowds and summer the busiest, warmest stretch for the harbor and beaches nearby, while autumn and winter offer a quieter, still mild alternative for travelers who prefer Monte Carlo without the peak-season density.
