Laucala Island is reached only by private aircraft: it is a privately owned island off the northeastern tip of Taveuni in Fiji, home to a single ultra-exclusive resort, and guests fly in on a private charter of about 45 to 50 minutes from Nadi International Airport, arranged by the resort. The island has its own airstrip, and arrival is handled through a dedicated lounge at Nadi. Spread over a large expanse of coconut plantation, rainforest and beach, Laucala is known for its seclusion, privacy and a very small number of villas, set among a working farm, reefs and lagoons in Fiji's remote north. It is one of the most private high-end island retreats in the South Pacific. Being tropical, Fiji is warm year-round, with a drier season from around May to October and a wetter, warmer spell the rest of the year.
