Isla Viveros is a beautiful island in the Pearl Islands, the Archipelago de las Perlas, a group of tropical islands in the Gulf of Panama, in the Pacific, about sixty kilometres off the coast from Panama City. It is a green, hilly island with a long coastline of coves and beaches, ringed by clear blue-green water, in an archipelago of some three dozen islands and many more islets scattered across the warm Pacific. The Pearl Islands were once famous for their pearls, and today they are known as a peaceful tropical escape, with quiet beaches, abundant sea life and, off the coast, migrating whales in the second half of the year. Isla Viveros is a spacious island of forest and shore. It is reached by a short flight from Panama City, of around fifteen minutes, and by boat or ferry across the gulf. The climate is warm and tropical, with a wetter and a drier season.
