There is no confirmed hotel or resort infrastructure to describe, and it would be misleading to suggest otherwise; anyone visiting should expect to arrange accommodation through existing local or institutional contacts. Honiara, the national capital on Guadalcanal, functions as the real gateway for any trip toward Atoifi, since that is where international flights arrive and where onward domestic transport toward Malaita is arranged. Getting from Honiara to Atoifi typically means a small domestic flight to Atoifi's own airstrip (ATD) or a longer boat journey along the coast, both of which run on limited, infrequent schedules that should be confirmed directly with domestic carriers or local operators before travel. Once in Atoifi, movement is on foot or by whatever local arrangement a host community or the hospital provides, since there is no rental or public transit infrastructure to speak of.
