Athens Eleftherios Venizelos is Greece's main hub, and it is one of the better lounge airports in southern Europe, with around nine lounges across its two halls and satellite terminal and a strong Priority Pass presence. Knowing which lounges your card covers, and which hall your flight uses, makes the choice easy.
The lounges at Athens
Athens has lounges from three operators: Goldair, Skyserv, and Swissport. For membership holders, the key names are the Goldair lounges: three of them accept Priority Pass, including the Goldair Handling Lounge Intra, the Goldair Handling Lounge Extra, and the Goldair Handling x AIA Lounge, and DragonPass also works at the Goldair lounges. The Goldair lounge in Hall A has recently introduced an enhanced menu offering a culinary journey through Greek flavours, served daily from late morning. The Skyserv Melina Merkouri Lounge serves business and first-class passengers and Oneworld Sapphire and Emerald status holders on carriers such as Iberia and Royal Air Maroc.
Access methods and day passes
Access at Athens is flexible. Priority Pass or DragonPass opens the Goldair lounges, premium cabins and status open the Skyserv and airline lounges, and the Aegean Business Lounge sells day passes, recently around thirty-eight US dollars with a same-day boarding pass. Match the lounge to your hall: Hall A serves extra-Schengen flights and Hall B intra-Schengen, so check your departure area before picking a lounge.
Amenities and tips
The Athens lounges offer seating, Greek-influenced food and drinks, and Wi-Fi, with the upgraded Goldair menu a genuine draw. Because Athens is busy year-round and intensely so in summer, the lounges fill at peak departure waves, so arrive with margin. If one lounge is full, another operator's lounge in your hall may have space. Use the comparison below to match a membership, status, or a day pass to the right Athens lounge.
