Sanfebagar, also spelled Sanphebagar, is a town and municipality in the Achham district of Sudurpashchim province, in the far west of Nepal, lying on the bank of the Budhi Ganga river, a tributary of the Seti. It sits in the hills and river valleys of the far-western region, about twenty-five kilometres north of the district headquarters at Mangalsen. Sanfebagar is a growing local centre for a remote and traditional part of the country, far from Kathmandu, in a landscape of terraced farms, ridges and rivers. The Budhi Ganga, which gives the town its life and name, also floods in the monsoon and can threaten low-lying homes. The town is reached by road, with a paved route to Mangalsen, and by air, as the area has its own airport. The climate ranges from warm in the valleys to cooler in the hills, with a summer monsoon.
