Kadhdhoo is a small island and airport in Laamu Atoll (Haddhunmathi) in the southern Maldives, and its airport (KDO) is the main gateway to the atoll. Maldivian operates short domestic flights of about 40 minutes from Male's Velana International Airport, after which travelers continue by speedboat or by road. Kadhdhoo is linked to neighboring islands, including Fonadhoo and Gan, by a causeway and the roughly 18 km Laamu Link Road, one of the longest stretches of road in the country and popular for cycling past palm groves and villages. Laamu is one of the largest but least-developed atolls for tourism, valued for its uncrowded feel, strong dive sites and world-class surf breaks such as Yin Yang, best from around April to October during the southwest monsoon. A small number of high-end resorts and local guesthouses serve visitors here.
