PDL airport lounges have one clear answer: the SATA PLUS Lounge at Ponta Delgada's Joao Paulo II Airport, on the left side of the main departures level past security, open roughly 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM. Access runs broad: SATA Azores Airlines frequent-flyer tiers (Silversky, Goldsky and Imagine) and Trade members, business-class passengers on Azores Airlines and TAP, and - the useful part for everyone else - pay-at-the-door entry, which has been offered at around 30 euros. Inside expect the essentials done comfortably: air conditioning, snacks and beverages, reading material and TV, sized to the Azores' friendly scale. The same SATA PLUS concept also serves Terceira and Faial, so island-hoppers meet it more than once.
