The two lounges at Kigali
Kigali has two lounges in the departure terminal. The Pearl Lounge is open around the clock and is the flexible one: it welcomes Priority Pass members and also admits any passenger for a fee, regardless of class. It offers snacks, drinks including alcoholic beverages, complimentary Wi-Fi, TV, and newspapers. The Akagera Lounge is quieter and open from early morning to late evening, roughly 5am to 11pm, with hot and cold snacks, drinks, Wi-Fi, a business centre, and comfortable seating, but access is limited to business and first-class passengers of RwandAir and partner airlines and to eligible frequent-flyer elites.
Access methods and day passes
For most travellers the Pearl Lounge is the one to target. You can enter with a Priority Pass, or simply pay the walk-in fee whatever your ticket, with lounge access generally in the region of twenty to fifty US dollars per person depending on the lounge and length of stay. The Akagera Lounge, by contrast, is not a pay-in lounge: it is tied to premium cabins or airline status. So if you do not hold RwandAir status or a business-class ticket, plan around the Pearl Lounge.
