LUV is the airport code for Langgur, on the island of Kei Kecil in the Kei Islands, a remote archipelago in the Maluku province of eastern Indonesia. Langgur and its twin town Tual form the islands' main centre, and Langgur's Karel Sadsuitubun Airport is the gateway to the group. The Kei Islands are prized for having some of the finest beaches in Indonesia, above all Ngurbloat, or Pasir Panjang, a long stretch of powdery white sand often called the softest in the country, backed by turquoise water and a very laid-back atmosphere far from the crowds of Bali. Reaching the islands usually means flying to Ambon first, then taking a short domestic flight to Langgur; ferries also connect the region by sea. Getting around is by motorbike taxi, car or boat. The tropical climate is warm year-round, with wetter and drier spells through the year.
