LNJ is the airport code for Lincang Airport, serving the city of Lincang in the southwest of Yunnan Province in China, near the border with Myanmar. Lincang lies in a warm, hilly region of southern Yunnan, an area of mountains, rivers and terraced farmland, and is above all known as a major centre of tea, in the heartland of Pu-erh tea country with ancient tea trees and forests. It is a diverse region, home to many of Yunnan's ethnic minority peoples, with their own cultures, festivals and villages, and is far less visited than better-known Yunnan destinations like Lijiang or Dali. The airport connects Lincang with Kunming, the provincial capital, and other Chinese cities. Lincang is reached by these flights and by long mountain roads. The climate is mild and subtropical, warm for much of the year, with a wetter summer season.
