JOG is the airport code for Adisutjipto Airport in Yogyakarta, the cultural heart of the Indonesian island of Java, and one of the country's most-loved destinations. Adisutjipto was for many years Yogyakarta's international gateway, but it has now been largely replaced for scheduled flights by the newer Yogyakarta International Airport, in Kulon Progo to the west. Yogyakarta is reached mainly through Yogyakarta International Airport, and by train and road across Java. The climate is tropical, with a wet and a dry season.
